The Twins are Sitting Up!!

Wow, has this been an awful lot of fun. Robert and Reagan just continue to grow and become more enchanting with each passing day. I had an opportunity to spend about two hours with them last Sunday, both before and after the open house at their home. The most gratifying part of the whole interaction was to see their faces light up when I came into the room. They are just so happy to see me, and of course I just crack up laughing whenever they smile. And oh, watch out when they laugh. The hardest part is trying to equitably divide my time between them.

I can only imagine how Marie and Bob feel when either Nancy or I show up. Well, it is our job to spoil them isn’t it. We just get them all excited and wound up, and then leave up to their parents to settle them back down. Not only am I proud of the wonderful babies, but I am so excited to see how happily Bob and Marie are dealing with parenthood.

Attached are several photos of the babies. As you can see, Reagan is now sitting up all by herself. Robert tends to need a bit of support, but that will likely only be for another few days. I hope you enjoy the photos.

The Twins Come to Great Falls

The Nelson household in Great Falls has been turned on its head. Since we recently put Bob and Marie’s home in Reston on the market, they of course had to move in with us. This meant totally reshuffling the old homestead to make room. It has been an absolute ball having them live with us. The four of them have settled into Bob’s old bedroom which meant I had to relocate my home office to the main level guest bedroom. This has worked out extremely well for all involved, especially for Nancy and I since we get to see Robert and Reagan on a daily basis. I joke with Bob and Marie that we have had numerous offers on their home, but I’ve turned them all down as a way of keeping the twins in our home. Nancy and I will be devastated once they move out. Here are several pictures of the twins since moving in with us.

Do We Have the Next Generation of Wrestler?

I just couldn’t wait to get young Robert on the wrestling mat. Here we are discussing the various moves named after our family. Just in case you don’t quite understand baby talk, he’s saying that his favorite is the three-quarter Nelson. I just may have to come up with a new move – the pint-sized Nelson.

Nancy and I are loving every minute we get with the twins. This particular video was last Saturday night when we had an opportunity to babysit.

The Twins Celebrate Their Fifth Week

I find it incredible to believe that Robert and Reagan are already five weeks old. As I have told many of you, the proudest moments in my life were when Bob and Ryan were born. Anyone with kids of their own can fully appreciate this. The birth of the twins may well overtake that. When your baby has babies, its really hard to comprehend just how thrilling it can be. I know I’m behaving like so many other Grandpas, but I can’t help it. Just click play to see the next installment of amazing videos and more photos.

The two of them are doing fantastic and have gained a considerable amount of weight. Reagan is already bigger than her father was when he was her age and Robert is gaining quickly. Bob and Marie continue to miss out on a great deal of sleep. Boy is it nice to go see, hold, love the babies and then be able to come home and get a good nights rest.

Nancy and I have been sworn to secrecy with respect to revealing which one was born first. I had thought this was a bit silly until speaking with the twin brother of a friend. I had not actually known Kevin had a twin until just two days ago. Of course, his brother was quick to point out that he was so much older. So remember, don’t share this with the twins.

I simply can’t contain myself. While this is supposed to be a real estate related website, what proud grandfather can’t at least post an occasional piece about the new twins. They were born here in Northern Virginia at Arlington Hospital on October 22nd. Robert weighed in (can’t help the wrestler in me) at 5lbs. 3 oz. and Reagan weighed 5lbs. 9 oz. They came home to Reston on October 27th. Try as we might, Nancy and I haven’t been able to give Bobby and Marie any privacy. On average, we have been heading over there at least once or twice a day. Nancy is currently spending a week helping out.

Everyone needs to watch the video of the babies at least once. I think I’ve seen it at least 100 times and shown it to everyone who even remotely asks about the babies and some who don’t.
